After majoring in English and minoring in journalism at Southern Methodist University, I scored a job as an online editor covering home/garden for Dallas' award-winning D Magazine. In the digital world, paths aren’t always clearly defined, and I was fortunate to have the freedom at D to create a role that was uniquely my own, one that merged both digital and print content. Soon, I was also covering style and beauty in Dallas, then fitness and wellness, and managing the online vertical for all three of these topics while writing for each print issue of D Magazine and its sister pub, D Home. At the end of 2018, we launched “D Living,” a new landing page and newsletter for D Magazine’s website, where all local lifestyle content could be more cohesively published. For my last year at the magazine, I also edited the Style section of the monthly print product.
Currently, I’m working as the digital editorial director in Dallas for PaperCity Magazine, helping shape the local voice of the Texas-based luxury publication. I edit and produce content daily on papercitymag.com, as well as contribute to the monthly print magazine.
My interest in covering the wellness and beauty scene has also led to opportunities to write for national outlets such as Well+Good, contribute regularly to publishers like Camille Styles, and work with teams at luxury skincare brands to craft their message.
Though I'm based in Dallas, Texas, I have contacts in most major markets, and am always looking for freelance work and the opportunity to cover lifestyle topics for a broader audience. Let's talk!
